How many times have you gone to switch on a light, but forget which switch corresponds to what light?   Taewon Hwang understood this and created a master light switch that is easily understandable. The master light switch is designed to mirror your home’s floor plan, making it ingeniously simple to operate and never be confused again.

Though not entirely new, Google’s PowerMeter allows homeowners to monitor the amount of energy that they use. Its small LCD screen calculates your home’s energy consumption by displaying a bar graph over a 24-hour period.

Google TV has changed the game by creating a device that is not only a browser and guide, but will allow you to search for and navigate both TV and online content, even allowing users to download apps to their TV. Coming on the scene a mere 18 months ago, Google TV and its ilk, including web TV and Apple TV, will change the way we search, watch and learn.

One of the most important, though less glitzy, advents in technology has been the accessibility of home health monitors. Wireless pulse monitors, blood pressure monitors, wifi body scales are not only readily available but now integrate this information to create a health profile.
