«We are only stewards of this land which God has placed in our care...»
This is how the Osuna family has managed to conserve some of the most beautiful tracts of tropical forest land along Puerto Vallarta's South shore, acquired by the family in 1955. Carlos Osuna Saenz, is without doubt one of the pioneers of what is today one of Mexico's great resort destinations. His love of Puerto Vallarta was instrumental in the planning and creation of Marina Vallarta, one of the Mexico's first master planned resort developments. In 1981 after 26 years of dedicated preservation of that strategically-located site, the investor group Don Carlos headed, partnered with Guadalajara's Sidek Group to successfully develop the Marina Vallarta we know today, thus launching the most dynamic phase of growth of this important destination.
In 1987 Don Carlos Osuna Saenz embarks on the development of the award-winning residential community, Sierra del Mar, located on a unique slope of tropical forest terrain with beachfront, located 15 minutes to the south of Puerto Vallarta. Puerto Vallarta's South shore, is traditionally regarded as the town's most exclusive, due not only to the unequalled beauty of its beaches, and clear ocean water, but also for its green mountains, home of an endemic sub-tropical forest, which limits construction, and ensures the area's exclusivity.
In partnership with his son, Carlos Osuna Penn, father and son found the Sierra del Mar Development Group, a company dedicated to meticulously planned an constructed second home developments that combine conservation of the natural surroundings with high quality land planning, Mexican-style architecture and construction.
